Final Reflection

1) Reflecting on the highs and lows this semester in this course was interesting. I started the semester off strong, I had every assignment written down in my planner. However, as the time passed I still wrote my assignments down but I lingered to a few days before due date to complete my assignment. This procrastination was a low point for me in this class. My high points were completing the assignment, I really enjoyed how the assignments in this class are structured. I like to write so creating my own blog was exciting.

2) The experience that I'll remember forever was the first time I tried to give an elevator pitch. I thought I "had it in the bag" but when the camera started recording I choked. However I tried again and eventually was able to present a great elevator pitch. I am really proud that I learned to not be afraid of having to speak on the spot.

3) I do see myself as an entrepreneur. I feel that I have developed the entrepreneurial mindset throughout this class. I believe everyone thinks like entrepreneurs but some just take their ideas a step further and turn it into reality.

4) I would recommend that future students now how to time manage well. This class will be good to you if you make time for it. This class has a lot of assignments and if you get lazy they will creep up on you. I would recommend buying a planner to write down all the course work for the week so that you never forget an assignment.

  1. Oh boy, the classic procrastination. Just like you, I also have been tempted by procrastination. Having the strength to just get your work done as assignment makes a huge difference, and once you start, you never want to stop. Elevator pitches are not as easy as people think. They have to be rehearsed over and over again till it perfect, so I can understand how the first time was not too great. For success in this class, I also agree that time management is a major key to success. Check out my blog: http://thedailyschlak.blogspot.com/2016/04/final-reflection.html

  2. Hey Andrea! I totally agree with what you were saying about procrastinating. I struggled with that too this semester. The elevator pitches also presented problems for me too. There was a fine line between being too rehearsed and sounding natural. I gave the same advice as you did for new students. Nice job.
