Top 5 World Problems

Hello Bloggers!

Last Week I listed what I believe to be 10 of our world biggest problems and possible solutions. Today from that list I will pick 5 problems from the list which I believe to be the most crucial and list them from most serious to least serious.

Here is that list:

  1. HUNGER
  2. TERRORISM
  3. GLOBAL WARMING
  4. EDUCATION
  5. ANIMAL EXTINCTION
Last week when I made my list of top 10 world problems, I also included solutions to each problem. Now, from my top 5 solutions, I will list in order of most-possible to implement to least possible to implement.

Here is my list of top 5 solutions:
  1. I think a practical implementation for hunger would be to take excess food that countries like the U.S don't use and send it to countries in need.
  2. For education, if more people and organizations continue to teach children of low-income families this could possibly be a solution.
  3. If the United Nations worked to form a ban an endangered animal hunting, the percentage of animals becoming extinct could decline.
  4.  A good solution for global warming is artificial photosynthesis. Researchers at MIT have created an artificial plant that uses sunlight to create energy. This energy could potentially fuel our cars and planes etc.
  5. Controlling terrorism would probably be the hardest to implement. A solution could be to ban bombs and guns outside governmental authority.

In my first list, I ranked hunger as my first problem because I think it needs to be addressed first. People are dying of hunger across the globe however countries like the U.S have an abundance of food. In fact the U.S has a problem of obesity, people in this country are eating too much food. For this reason, I put hunger as my easiest solution to implement.
I ranked terrorism my second because it continues to scare the world and fear can be detrimental. Though it was second on my first list, it is the hardest to implement. Terrorism is the result of groups of extremist who want to eliminate or hurt others. Finding these extremist groups and crushing them is hard (if it was easy we wouldn't have a problem).
Global Warming is third of my top 5 world problems list because it is so important but hunger and terrorism are current world issues ranked higher in my view.  Global Warming was fourth on my list of possible to implement solutions because finding a cheap solution to global warming is extremely difficult and will take time.
Education is very important but drive to educate the world is already in place by organizations like the peace corps which is why it is second on my possible to implement list.
Animal extinction was last on my top 5 world problems not because it isn't important because it is but I found hunger and terrorism to be more urgent. And finding a solution to animal extinction was high on my implementation list because a simple law from the United Nations could impact immensely animal species.

  1. Hey Andrea,

I like how you ordered your list, and I agree that hunger should be addressed first. I also like your solution for global warming which could also be used for our energy shortage. Also, terrorism is really hard to control since they obtain there weapons on the low through the black market, so yeah I see where you're coming from.

  2. Our lists are somewhat similar! Some of the things you included in your top 5 are in my top 10. I definitely agree with your point about world hunger and Americans having an excess of food that's just not necessary. I had some ideas about terrorism so check mine out http://lfrancie.blogspot.com/2016/01/top-5-world-problems.html
I found your solution to number 4 very interesting; I had no idea that existed!
