Very Short Interview No.1

Hello bloggers!

Today I will write about an interview I had with an entrepreneur named Mansour Mansour, founder of Javna company in Jordan. In the interview I asked him 3 questions, but before I get into the interview I want to tell you a little bit about Mr Mansour. Born in Kuwait, Mr Mansour traveled to the United States to college. Attending University of Wisconsin he majored in computer and electrical engineering. He founded Javna in 2001 and his company specializes in wireless software products. Javna has become a global company and continues to move forward.

In my interview with Mansour Mansour I asked him a total of 3 question.
1) The first question I asked him was: What does it mean to be an entrepreneur to you? Mr Mansour answered " Independence... the ability to work on my own. To work under my own theory...to set my own protocols and goals...to make the money I want to make."

2) The second question I asked was : What do you think an entrepreneur class should teach students? His answer: " The ability to sell themselves. In another words: I can't sell a business unless I sell myself. You have to have the ability to sell yourself."

3) My last question to Mr Mansour was: What was the most surprising entrepreneurial task you have had to deal with in your career?  His answer: "There is two things. One is the ability to make the sale. Sale is a relative term. It could be a product or a service. The second thing is employees. Getting the employee to do exactly what you want them to do. Sometimes they don't do what you want them to do.  It could be a good outcome or bad outcome."

Reflection: I found this assignment most interesting to me. It is very nice to speak with a real entrepreneur and listen to what he had to say. The most difficult part of this assignment was probably finding an entrepreneur who is able to take a part of their day to talk to you. I was lucky to find Mr Mansour. I learned from this assignment what the real triumphs and struggles of an entrepreneur are. I never thought about what it would be like to hire employees and have to dictate to them what you would like them to do.
