Customer Interviews No. 3
In my final round of interviews I received a greater understanding of students wants on the issue. My interview process went similarly to the last two rounds of interviews. I asked the year of the student, if he/she had a car and what they thought about parking on campus. After this final round of interviews I felt that I received good enough information to draw a conclusion. I felt that from a vast majority of the students I interviewed most felt that parking was a hassle that needs to be fixed. In addition students would pay for a parking spot in a parking garage right next to or on campus.

Hey Andrea,
ReplyDeleteAwesome job with these interviews! I think opening up more spots and giving students the option to pay for them is a wonderful idea. Not only would it allow for more people to commute to campus, but provide an additional source of income and possible allow UF to ease up on the super strict and annoying parking citations.
I really enjoyed your interviews! I do not attend school on campus, however I have attended 4 different colleges in Florida and parking is always a HUGE issue. It could take me almost an hour to park at FAU and I only lived 5 minutes away. I think most logical people will pay for something that makes their lives easier, less stressful and more convenient. Especially if its a matter of passing/ failing a class! :)
ReplyDeleteIts a great post about parking on campus! When i was interviewing for senate I made a strong focus about parking on campus and i really enjoy how you are trying to make a difference with parking. This also goes with my idea of students dont have cars to drive to chipotle and one of the reasons is that they leave it at home since they have no place to park it.

Hey Andrea,
ReplyDeleteI loved your subject matter and the line of questioning you were posing with your "customers". I noticed that during the interview process many of the students were not wanting to give up their space, by using their car, or did not have a decal to use their vehicle on campus. Since I do not attend campus directly, I would love to see what is the "customers" frustrations. By asking "what is your least favorite thing about parking on campus", you're giving yourself more room to ask probing questions which will specify their frustrations. Just some food for thought...overall fantastic post and rallying for more parking.
