Interviewing Customers No. 2

Hey Buisness Bloggers!

In this weeks blog I did a second round of interviews for my student parking on campus opportunity. In this round I felt like I ask more questions that exemplified the emotions students felt on campus parking. After interviewing last week and this weeks interviewers I came to the conclusion that many students feel that parking on campus is a hassle and a issue that needs to be resolved. Many students feel that parking on campus should be free. Some students take the bus and feel that is working for them. Some students can't reach class on time because they are too busy looking for any available parking spot. I felt that I interviewed the right customers last time. I interviewed students that attend the University of Florida. This time however not only did I interview several students but I interviewed a former gator faculty and faculty member. I feel that this gave me a different perspective on the parking situation. Also this time I interviewed  students that live off campus vs the interviewees from round one that lived in the dorms.  My questions from round one where similar to my questions this round because I feel they retrieved the necessary information. After round 2 I felt that I had a good understanding of students problem with parking.

Tips for interviewing:
  • Be prepared with your questions
  • Make the interviewee feel comfortable
  • Make sure you get different genders and age groups to interview

  1. Great job with your interviews Andrea! You were very polite and asked good questions. I also appreciate your tips on how to interview someone. Although I dont have a car, I think parking should be free on campus. FSU I know has free parking and I dont see why we dont.

Again, great job! Check out my post at http://slverio.blogspot.com/2016/02/interviewing-customers-no2.html

  2. I really enjoyed watching your interviews! You got a wide variety of participants which helps a lot with your argument. I liked how in your interviews you asked a lot of different questions and really tried to understand how each person felt about parking. You really got some emotions out of them which was cool to see!

  3. Hello Andrea,

Great job on your interviews. Clearly this is a massive problem on campus and the University or city of Gainesville need to step in to relieve the problem. I like the fact that you interviewed alumni and faculty to give us a better perspective of how they feel about it. 4. Hi Andrea! Great interviews! I liked that you had a wide range of people to interview because that really expands your point that the parking on UF campus isn't only a problem for students; it's a problem for faculty as well. I agree that having more parking available on campus would make it a lot easier for students to get from place to place. They also wouldn't have to worry about missing class just because their bus was late. Overall, great interviews and great idea!

  5. Hey Andrea,
Great job on your interviews, I agree with all the people that parking really is a hassle. I like that fact that you brought in another perspective with the teacher even though he was very blunt about his answers. Unfortunately, I was away from Gainesville during this assigenment so I don't have my own post but here is a link to my blog: http://kevinleddysblog.blogspot.com/

  6. Hey Andrea,

I really enjoyed your post! Your unmet need of more parking on the UF campus definitely relates to a wide range of people. I thought your actual interview skills were great as you were very nice and asked a range of questions. Also it was amazing that you incorporated the views of a faculty member and alumni. It really does show a different perspective as the alumni said parking was terrible all the way back in 1993. Overall, great job!

  7. Andrea,
Your interviews prove that there is a serious problem with the small amount of parking available on campus for students. I personally believe UF makes more money on parking ticket fines than on students paying for decals, so this may be the reason why nothing is being done to solve this problem. Hopefully the school will realize the stress it is causing students and expand their parking lots, but I seriously doubt it. Great Post
